Director of Operations
Kasey Harwell joins Surf City for the 2012-2013 season excited to add direction and organization to the program. He will be a hands-on leader for the club, organizing all the details of the season and getting to assist all the coaches and athletes in the program.
Kasey is also the Head Coach of the men’s program at Golden West College. His inaugural season at the helm will start Spring 2013. Kasey will also coach at Mater Dei High School for the 2012 girls season.
Prior to Huntington Beach, he spent the last two seasons directing Volleyball Club Dinamo in Tucson, AZ. With Dinamo, one of Arizona’s top clubs, Kasey coached the two top teams (15s & 17s), organized training curriculum, mentored club coaches and managed season details. While in Tucson, he also assistant coached for the Pac-10’s University of Arizona women’s team in 2011. Kasey was also the boys 18’s Head Coach for Arizona Premier Volleyball, coming off back-to-back Silver medals in the club division at JO’s in 2011 and 2012.
Kasey also spent three seasons as Assistant Coach at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, where he helped rebuild the program. While in North Carolina, Kasey started a girls volleyball club named Club Red and earned two JO’s bids in the two seasons he spent with the group.
He graduated with a B.S. in Optical Sciences and Engineering in 2007 from the University of Arizona. While in college, he played for the club team, winning a NIRSA National Championship in 2003 and assisted the women’s Division I team. He started his coaching career at Salpointe Catholic High School and Club Cactus Juniors, earning Open bids in each and every season.
Kasey is originally from Tucson, Arizona and is excited to start his next chapter in Huntington Beach, Surf City USA!
